The Katsina State Police Command has arrested 38-year-old Mubarak Bello from Kofar Yamma quarters in Kurfi Local Government Area for unlawful possession of a firearm and impersonating a police officer with the rank of ‘AD Asst.’

Operatives intercepted Bello on Saturday at 2:30 am while driving a Toyota Corolla (Lagos GGE 473 BH) during a routine patrol, where he failed to provide a satisfactory account of himself or the vehicle.

The search yields a locally fabricated rifle, four live cartridges, two expended shells, a fake police ID card, and an extra Kano plate (FGE 68).

Police Public Relations Officer Abubakar Aliyu, speaking on behalf of Commissioner Bello Shehu, states that investigations continue to determine the circumstances behind the items.
